Privacy policy

• Comments and ratings. The name, comment and optional star rating you post are shown publicly with the post. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address to stop spam; we can't turn it back into your address.
• Reactions. Your browser gets a random ID, kept in its local storage, so you can change your reaction later. It isn't linked to your name or any other site.
• Views. We count how many times each post is viewed, as a number. We don't record who viewed it.
• Messages. When you use the contact or removal form, we keep your name, email, message (and, for removals, the link and who you are) so we can reply, plus a hashed IP address to limit abuse.
• Preferences. Your theme (light or dark), the name you last commented with and a few similar settings stay in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.

The site runs on a few providers that process data for us:

• Vercel hosts the site. Like any web server it sees your IP address and browser details when you visit.
• Supabase stores posts, comments, reactions, view counts and messages.
• Cloudflare stores and delivers our photos and videos (R2), and runs Turnstile, the security check on our forms, which looks at signals from your browser to tell people from bots.

We don't set cookies for visitors. Cloudflare Turnstile may use its own cookies or similar storage on the contact and removal forms to work. The only cookie of our own is the sign-in cookie used by the site's administrators.

Comments stay with their post until we remove them or the post is deleted. Messages are kept while we handle them and deleted when no longer needed. Reaction IDs and preferences stay in your browser until you clear its storage.

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete anything you've posted or sent us, such as a comment or a message. Use the contact form; for content that shows you, use the removal request form. You can also clear your browser's storage for this site at any time.

The site isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
